  • Another finds it usable as a lightweight trainer for speed work.

Cons

  • Two reviewers report heel slippage or rubbing near the arch.

Love the large toe box

4/5

Overall

I love the extra large toe box.  It gives me a lot of space. I bought the men's version because I didn't like any of the color options for the women's shoe. I'm not into pastels or basic coloring so those weren't good too work.  The midsole wasn't too my liking initially.  It rides a little high by the arch and can rub,  though not to the point of blistering. It's a pretty good shoe. I got them in January and the sole is just now wearing out. I'm no track star but I've gotten decent mileage. This is one of the better shoes I've worn.

Not actually a stability shoe

3/5

Overall

Bought a pair because I couldn’t find a good stability shoe with low (5mm or less) drop, and altra’s website said these were light stability, so decided to give them a try and go straight to zero drop. Shoes are not too bad if used as a lightweight trainer for speed work, but I can tell from experience that there’s nothing there stability-wise to help my overpronation issues. I basically have to ice my ankle after every run in these shoes. Also something is weird with either the lacing or sizing, as I can’t stop heel slippage (even with heel lock lacing) unless they’re so tight I start losing sensation in my toes.
