Fast but harsh

Anonymous runner · Jan 21, 2021

4/5

Overall

+ Good fit + Light + Smooth transitions + Great shoes for speed work and mid-distance races +/- Tends to make your cadence faster than you may think during your run - Pretty hard sole, your legs may feel sore on longer runs - Outside is not grippy enough on wet roads, nearly slippery at toe off

A different type of ride for fast pace

Anonymous runner · Dec 8, 2020

5/5

Overall

I read a few online reviews of these shoes and I told myself "they will be my next marathon shoes". But I couldn't find them anywhere in store. When I finally found them at a store, they were on discount, and I rushed to try them on. I liked them right away. I did well to try them at the store: I ended up taking a half size bigger, because of the tight toe box. My usual US9 with Asics shoes was not uncomfortable, but a half size bigger felt much better. I just had to tie the laces with a runner loop and that was perfect. And they look great! The shoes are comfortable and breathable, they have a good fit. But the sole is harder than what I'm used to. Because of this, I didn't feel much rebound at fast pace, but still I was running faster than I thought, and it didn't require much effort to keep the pace. This is a different experience compared to the Boost foam I used recently for speed work. They can definitely be a good pair of shoes for speed work and will be my race shoes at least up to half marathon. I haven't tried longer runs yet, but if the shoes soften a bit with time, they can be good shoes for marathon too.
