How it ranks
The Mizuno Wave Shadow trails most daily trainers in our data. Value and looks are its strongest sub-ratings. Cushioning scores well below its other sub-ratings. The rating rests on 8 runner reviews and 2 other rated shoes in the Wave Shadow product line. Another 4 reviews would set the confidence on this shoe's own reviews.
Confidence
How settled the rating is against every other rated shoe. A shoe can rate high on confidence with relatively few reviews of its own when its product line has a long record and external ratings from retailer sites agree. Confidence will score low when we have few ratings or when runners disagree.
Confidence
54/100
“The ride is really firm and after coming from the softness of the Peg it was quite a shock.”
“Light enough for fast distance race efforts, but stable enough for faster long runs.”
“They rub my Achilles tendon in a weird way, and I have tendonitis flare ups if I train in these everyday.”
“Like a lot of Mizunos the heel is quite rigid and if you're not landing mid foot they feel clunky so you can't be lazy in these.”
“There's no break-in required. The first time I put them on it was like 'welcome home!'”
“Slim toes; enough room in the lateral midfoot for my slightly protruding fifth metatarsal turberosity; enough arch support for my arches.”
“The stretchy material forms around my feet perfectly.”
“Fit true to size. Mid-narrow fit.”
“A soft enough sole so that my many times sprained ankle has no issues with the lateral arch.”
“The sole is prone to pick up stones, which is annoying.”
