A WORD OF CAUTION

Anonymous runner · May 20, 2018

3/5

Overall

was a great shoe, or so I thought until I developed a stress fracture in my tibia followed by apophysitis the next year. all in newton on the road. ran between 80-90mi/wk. the problem is the lack of support with these shoes. even though you think you will be running more natural, studies have shown that with any shoe, sometimes even a sock, the body will run different from barefoot mechanics. this becomes problematic with a shoe meant to encourage natural running with an unnatural setting to begin with. use caution with newton. the gravity is a great shoe, but perhaps best used as a racing flat or track shoe not for everyday training or long runs

Best training shoe - 2:13 marathoner's review

Anonymous runner · Feb 6, 2018

5/5

Overall

This is the only training shoe that combines good feel, cushion, and responsiveness so that I can train properly during the winter when trails get snowed over. I can drop sub 5 pace in these no problem at the end of a long run if feeling good. Only drawback is it is pricey.

Great shoe for 300 miles

Anonymous runner · Jan 31, 2018

4/5

Overall

I've been wearing these shoes for the past four years and have yet to have a pair make it past 350. The design of the shoe is great, I love the forefoot lugs. But the lugs always wear flat too quickly, I have even had lugs fall off the shoe.

Dead, heavy, overpriced

Overall

Nothing springy about the “Newtonium” foam. Nearly an ounce heavier than previous versions. Disappointing offering, esp at $175.
