Great show for older runners

Overall

Ever since I was diagnosed with arthritis, I've had to find super cushioned shoes to allow me to continue running. These shoes are great for older runners who want to get in some miles without beating up your joints. I use them as my daily trainer. 462 miles on them so far, and the outsole/ midsole are in great shape!

A major disappointment

Anonymous runner · Jan 13, 2022

Overall

I run 37 minutes for the 10k and do most of my runs at 8 minute miles, so I wanted something highly cushioned for those long slow jogs. Since this shoe has zoomx foam I thought it was going to be brilliant but I was very disappointed. Firstly, there is a lot of heel padding and it rubbed the skin off the sides of my heels, which has never happened with any other shoe, so I couldn't run in them much without pain. The shoe is wide, quite heavy and clunky and I caught my foot a number of times, again cutting the skin. This could be a form issue, but the shoe is unusually wide. The upper is very padded and adds a lot of weight. The cushioning itself is bad. There is not a uniform feel under the shoe. For example, my foot sank into the foam more at the heel and at the forefoot, so this created a spongy and laboured feel. I honestly think react foam would have been better because at least it has a consistent and reliable feel with each strike. Durability wise this shoe would last a long time because there is an excess of everything - rubber covering the entire underside of the shoe, a thick layer of foam above it and a thick, padded upper.

Expensive, But Amazing Daily Trainer

aidan.carterr · Oct 19, 2021

Overall

I am currently on my 4th pair of these shoes. All in all I love them, but with all products there can be some sort of improvement. I love the upper and the forefoot of the shoe, I think it fits really well and doesn't cramp any of the toes compared to other Nike shoes. The ZoomX cushioning feels amazing in these shoes, I am currently running an average of 70-80 miles a week at a Division 1 school. I use these shoes for easy runs, doubles, warm up/cool down, and pretty much everything in between. Due to the shoes thickness and the ZoomX foam, I will say the shoes are a little unstable when it comes to tight turns and uneven surfaces, but the wide foot base on the bottom of the shoe is very nice to counter the instability of the shoe. I supinate pretty badly and these shoes have helped me stay injury free despite being prone to injury. I will say hats off to Nike for making a really good daily trainer, but it would be nice if this shoe was more affordable. I'm very blessed to be at an institution that pays for my shoes, but for the average Joe this shoe is pretty darn expensive at the price of $180.
