How settled the rating is against every other rated shoe. A shoe can rate high on confidence with relatively few reviews of its own when its product line has a long record and external ratings from retailer sites agree. Confidence is low when we have few ratings or when runners disagree.

Great shoe that needs 8-10 miles of break-in

5/5

Overall

I was pleasantly surprised by the Scott Pursuit shoe and picked up a pair of these at a steep discount. First run was a disappointment. Story changes with Run #2. The shoes absolutely came to life. Midsole foam is firm but responsive and the pop from the carbon plate is great. I love these shoes and now worry about them wearing out. No signs of wear after 70 miles or so. Everything feels great.

The reviews of this shoe are pretty consistently terrible and my hunch is that it's due to the break-in that's required to get the foam(s) working well. If I want to do a quick 7-10 miles this is my choice. I would do a half-marathon in these with confidence.
