Disappointing

2/5

Overall

If you liked the previous iterations of this shoe, prepare to be disappointed by the Cascadia 14s. For one, the sizing is completely different from previous models. I ordered the same size in that I’ve been wearing in 2 previous pairs of Cascadia 13s and the new ones are way too roomy. The overall length of the shoe feels fine., it's just the heel and toe box that feel too wide. The toe box is so large that your foot slides around inside the shoe. Also, there’s way more room in the heel of the new model. I’ve been reduced to walking over technical sections of trail that I previously run because I’m so concerned about my foot moving in the shoe and slipping. Probably the most annoying problem with the fit is the resulting blisters. Prior to these shoes, I’d logged more than 500 miles this year in Cascadia 13s without a single blister. My first long run in these shoes, I got blisters on the inner part of each foot. I’ll use these shoes until they wear out but I’ll be shopping for a new trail shoe after this, and probably not from Brooks.

I ordered the same size in that I’ve been wearing in 2 previous pairs of Cascadia 13s and the new ones are way too roomy. The overall length is okay but the width of the toe box and heel are too wide. It fits like a normal shoe around my midfoot and arch. The toe box is so large that your foot slides around inside the shoe. Also, there’s way more room in the heel of the new model. I’ve been reduced to walking over technical sections of trail that I previously run because I’m so concerned about my foot moving in the shoe and slipping.
