Worth EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR - Worth your time too

Overall

I purchased these shoes as trainers for my sophomore high school cross country season, mainly to function as my shoes for long and aerobic runs. This would've been during the summer of 2015, right around the time that Hoka was gaining the attention that it reaps from the running community now. I got these for the purpose of high mileage, but also because I liked trying new types of shoes out. I will add that I attribute much of my injury free training to switching between 2-3 pairs of shoes at a time, but do firmly believe that the sturdy sole of the Challenger ATR successfully mimicked the feeling of a sturdy surface, building up the strength in my feet, as well as raising the ever so important arch. The ATR 2's are light but capable; they perform well on every surface I've used them on. If I am going on vacation and am unsure as to what kind of surfaces I will 'run' into, I always bring these along, because I know they will function well in all sorts of runs. I will mention however that the toe box (near my pinkie toe) developed a hole and deteriorated rather quickly, which I suppose is something to expect for high mileage shoes. Other than the wearing away of the toe boxes, the sole and base of the shoe have retained plenty of tread and thread over the many, many miles I have run. I definitely recommend these shoes to those of you who don't mind wearing an older pair of shoes, and who are also looking for a cheaper pair of sturdy Hoka's, as opposed to their newer recently released versions. I know that they most likely have improved on the newer versions, but still. there is always Duct Tape!
