Best shoe I've ever run in, but then it's also my first pair of running shoes 😁

5/5

Overall

So, this review isn't going to be the most useful as these are my first pair of running shoes and as such I've nothing to really compare them to. But I'll give it a go!

Most of my local runs consist of mostly trail with some road sections. So accordingly I went looking for some road and trail shoes, after trying on every pair of shoes fitting that description in my local running shop I decided on the the Hoka one one challenger 6's.

Why? Because out of all the other offerings the challengers felt the most comfortable on my feet, that's why!

They're comfortable up hill, down hill, on the grass, the gravel and the tarmac. Great shoes!

My average run includes climbing some of the smaller hills in Wales, namely mynydd y cilgwyn, moel tryfan and moel smytho, with sections cutting through working quarries and with other purely road sections.

So far (though they've only covered 50 miles) they've yet to show any signs of damage, despite all the loose sharp slate they've traversed. Which I reckon is fairly good going and despite the fact that they're not purely trail shoes I'm yet to have found them wanting for grip. Even when I'm leaping from stone to stone running down hill on steep sketchy single track sheep trails.

So to conclude, the Hoka one one challenger 6 road and trail running shoe does exactly what it says on the tin and it does it well! Go buy some some!

The HOKA Challenger 6 ATR has been a great shoe for me. Cushioned enough, light enough, stable enough, responsive enough, A very solid fit with great laces. A wish this shoe had existed when i was 14-30 and running much more.
