My Hoka Gaviota

After numous foot surgeries I finally found a great shoe that works for me. Lightweight and stable all at the same time. Couldn't ask for a better fit.

Perfect Shoe

I have ran in many different shoes but now I will not be switching anymore. This Hoka One One is perfect for me. I have had foot surgeries and have wide flat feet. Finally a shoe that fits and feels great.

Good cushioned trainer for moderate overpronators

Overall

A not super-plush slight stability shoe, not as cushioned as some Hokas. Still, I'm able to do solid tempo sessions and even fartleks with it. Have been pretty impressed with it.

Hoka One One Gaviota

5/5

Overall

A huge step up in Hoka's line of motion control/stability shoes. After going through about 500 miles on one pair and about 200 on my current they have become one of my favorite pairs of shoes to do easy/long runs in. The problem for me however, as someone who also has custom orthotics, is that the bulkiness of the shoes (somewhat wide toe box) and high stack height makes it extremely difficult to run on uneven surfaces. This along with the weight of the shoe (about 10-11oz) also makes it difficult to run workouts in. Aside from that it is perfect for longer, easier runs despite having a bit of a stiffer construction than some other Hoka shoes. Also, one downside of utilizing lighter foam construction because of the shoes size is it does begin to suffer towards the 500 mile mark of use, and traction begins to fade quickly (although this is a characteristic of many Hoka shoes). Overall it's a shoe I can run many miles in and not be worried about facing injury because of it (as long as I'm on even ground)
