Horrible. Immediate shin splints.

Supertramp · Sep 28, 2025

3/5

Overall

I finished up marathon training, ran the race, and took two weeks off.

Started running again, felt fine.

About two weeks later, it was time to retire my old shoes (well-worn after marathon training)

Brand new Nike Pegasus 40.

Immediate shin splints. Like, a week or two in.

Fine to walk around in but horrible to run in. The Pegasus has done nothing but dissapoint me since the 37.

More cushion than I'm used to, in a Pegasus!

Overall

Really nice shoe!  Was a little worried about the Pegasus, as they've gone thru so many changes thru all the models!?  But worries went away from about the 3rd run, on.  Not quite as light as the 41's I just got, but, that is a GOOD thing, I think?  Better for the long runs!  Price is getting up there, but, I guess pretty comparable with the market!  Pegasus has nearly ALWAYS been dependable (a few models...no so much!)!

Classic Daily Trainer

Overall

Been using pairs of these for about five years now for all my standard mileage. You can also do some workouts in them as they're pretty light. Usually last me 3 months, or about 500-600 miles while still feeling good.
