Almost perfect

Lightweight, removable insoles, still plenty cushioning if you like the minimalist feel. Only flaw is the 4mm drop, wish it was 0mm

Great Road Race Flat Even up to Marathon

Anonymous runner · Feb 9, 2018

Overall

Love the Saucony Grid Type A6 - fit well, feel fast, just enough cushioning. (If you want more cushioning in a racing flat, you're definitely a hobbyjogger.) I've worn these in 5K, 10K, half and marathon races. They do great. Racing flats are very much a personal "feel" but these have worked great for me.

Durable as a gym shoe

Anonymous runner · Feb 7, 2018

Overall

I don't use these outside, but for gym workouts. Sometimes, my workouts include uptempo runs on a Woodway curve, and these shoes feel perfect for that. While the Type A6 sole is much thinner than a typical cross-trainer, the sole being thinner makes my ankles and calves work harder to keep my balance on one-legged exercises (Bulgarian lunges, single-leg dead-lifts, etc.). That's kind of the point of one-leg exercises, isn't it? And the firm sole, while less cushiony than most shores, is plenty cushiony, and seems to last forever, rather than compressing and collapsing the way a more cushiony shoe does. I love this shoe, and am reluctant to trad them in for the new version.

Overall

I do all of my heavy workouts with the A6 (intervals, tempo runs and long runs). Although it is a racing flat, The shoe is so comfortable that I can run this much in it without risk of injury. The ride is extremely smooth, and it fits perfect on my feet. There is enough cushion to protect my feet, but it is minimal enough so I have a good feel with the road. I have raced from a 5K to a marathon in the shoe and find it works well at all distances for me. My only complaint is that I tend to break through the upper well before the shoe is worn out, although that is due in part to the fact that I like to wear the shoe tight (probably a half size smaller than a shoe store would fit me).
