Overall

This shoe is amazing... I tried on like 7 different trail shoes, and the moment I put this one on I immediately knew i had to get it. SO I did. It feels so comfortable and relatively light . I'll probably get this shoe every time now.

The King of Trainers

Overall

Ooh-wee. I used to favor low-structure, high-flexibility shoes. Then I got horrible shin splints. I needed a shoe that would let me train at full volume while still recovering. HOKA ONE ONE had me covered. Lightweight, a comfortable upper, an incredibly supportive midsole, and premium traction. I used this shoe for every type of run on technical trains, dirt roads, pavement, and even ice. It performed magically in all conditions. Last year, I rotated three pairs of Torrents and got an average of 850 miles out of each one. I highly recommend this shoe for almost all runners. The Torrent is arguably the best all-around trainer ever, and I hope the new one is even better.

Hoka Torrent- Solid All-Around Trail Runner

Anonymous runner · Aug 12, 2019

5/5

Overall

This shoe provides the traction needed for any terrain with adequate cushion while still weighing less than 10ounces ((close to 9ounces flat) for a 10 US size. It has gone been worn through all the different terrains of PA that can be offered from rocky ascents/descents, dry creek beds, muddy trails, soft hard packed tracks and fire roads. This would be a solid shoe to have for Ultras (i.e. worn at Eastern States 100 for a portion)

Hoka One One Torrent Trail Shoe

HarrierStu · Aug 7, 2019

3/5

Overall

I won a trail race and was awarded a free pair of Hokas. The torrents were what I chose to replace my Altra Superiors. The upper of the Torrents is very snug and protective in the toe cap. The toe-box is fairly roomy I had to choose a half size up of my regular shoe size to get a comfortable fit. It took about 30 miles of easy trail running for these shoes to break in. At first I din't like them, but know I routinely wear them for trail runs up to an hour, hill strides (on the trails) and strides. The traction is great and the shoe is responsive. The torrent's mid-sole is snappy and just soft enough to not beat you up. These would be good for a trail 5k-10k race. Anything longer than that I would go with a different shoe.

Great shoe for mostly trails and for someone who needs extra cushioning. Not very durable for those doing high mileage.
