Overall

I have worn the wave inspires all my life, but this new model is terrible. There is little cushioning, and the shoe is very hard. I have been injured twice in the past year wearing these shoes. Everyone I know has switched to another shoe. All the previous models have been great though.

I was first turned on to the Mizuno wave inspire when the first one premiered 10 years ago. It was a friend who worked at a local shoe store that is no longer in business. I tried it and really liked its lighter weight compared to other stability shoes (at the time). When I went away to school I moved towards the brooks brand because my college team had a purchase agreement with them. After graduating I stopped running for a few years and just picked up running again in the last couple of months to lose some of my post collegiate weight. I must say, I am impressed so far with how well they hold up with bigger runners like myself (190 lbs currently). I am living proof of this shoe's incredible versatility. No matter what kind of runner you are: fat or skinny, novice or experienced, 35 mpw or 100mpw, if you are in need of a lighter weight base mileage shoe with some stability, this shoe can work for you.

I moved to the Wave Inspire 9 for my everyday training shoe last year after Adidas made significant changes to the Adios Adizero (for which I went through 6 pairs) and I didn't like it anymore. My specialty running shoe suggested I go with the Mizuno Wave Inspire, which I did. I have had 3 pairs of the version 9 and am now using the version 10, which is slightly lighter than the 9 with the same support which is good but also has higher (only by a few mm) sides which I noticed initially going around corners. I really like the Mizunos and the only small issue I have with them is the wet weather grip, which isn't great.
