Overall

One of the best most versatile shoes, must have for anyone who enjoys a racing flat style. If these were say 6-8mm drop with a touch more forefoot they would be perfect.

Overall

I have done many workouts and road 5ks in this shoe. Not great, but gets the job done. It is not that responsive and not very light (for a flat). Not a terrible shoe either.

Great Racing flat for road racing/ fast workouts

So I run all of my threshold/track workouts in flats, and last year I ran in the Saucony Type A. It was a good flat but it was super flimsy and didn't hold up great on the gravel trails I run on. I switched to the 1400 this year and was very impressed by it. It is a sweet looking shoe, and the REVlite cushioning is super light while cushioning your feet just enough. I usually break out of shoes pretty quickly on the outer sides, especially flats, but these 1400s have gotten me through 250 miles of hard running/turning before breaking through in a meaningful way. I would recommend this flat to anyone looking for a reasonably priced racing flat/workout shoe, as it definitely give the most bang for your buck
