midsole deteriorate very quickly

Anonymous runner · May 27, 2020

Overall

I agree with most reviews, that these are comfy, versatile shoes, but this nice in feel foam was very deformed just after 300 km! I'm very lightweight, just in case.

Versatile and Snappy

Anonymous runner · Mar 22, 2020

Overall

Shoe is very light and well cushioned. Very snappy and responsive. Feels very smooth going through stride and has an easy running sensation. Consistently ran slightly faster than felt. Midsole feels very soft and well cushioned but without the bounce of some of the newer midsoles. Outsole made of very durable rubber, no noticeable wear at 100 miles. The shoe is a very basic fit without some of the nicer comforts. Fits a little bit loose. The softness of the midsole can feel a bit unstable at slower paces. laces are a bit smooth and come untied occassionally even when double knotted. Overall a very good shoe for easy runs or tempo runs.

Cheap champ

Very good shoe, after 50k. Needs time to break. After that perfect long run, tempo shoe. Every time I run in them I run faster than planned. They work very well for me. I am a midfoot striker, I needed to size half down.

Great Jack of All Trades

Overall

This is a great shoe. The ride is great and the shoe handles all paces/distances well. I constantly find myself reaching for this shoe, and the ride is still great after a couple hundred miles. It is a great shoe, and the fact that it is constantly available for under $75 is just an added bonus. I did size down a half size when I ordered my second pair.

absolute joy to run in, and only $100

Anonymous runner · Dec 29, 2019

Overall

Just a great shoe overall. It lasted 900 miles before the cushioning flattened out and the rubber wore down to the foam (I do weigh 120 pounds, so ymmv). The upper is soft and breathable, nothing special, but did develop a hole about 600 miles in (clip your toenails, and you'll be fine). The laces are too short though, and don't stay tied especially well. The foam here is outstanding. Responsive, and lightweight but still durable, I could hardly feel the shoe on my feet at a wide range of paces - it is suitable for everything from shakeout jogs to speed workouts. The stack height is perfect, blending ground feel and impact protection perfectly. The full-length carbon rubber outsole is ridiculously durable and works fine on non-technical trail, and doesn't negatively impact the ride quality. My only real problem is aesthetics: the new Reebok logo sucks, but this is fixed in the Forever Energy 2, which also retails for the same price.Considering this shoe is $100 MSRP and can often be found for under $70, it is probably one of the best value shoes on the market, and I strongly recommend it. Make sure to go a half size down though: on my 8.5D foot with generic socks, an 8.5 was too big, but an 8 fit perfectly.
