I've ran through many, many pairs of saucony guides. I am usually able to get the 16s on sale for only 70 dollars on Amazon.
These shoes are comfortable and extremely durable. You can pretty much take them anywhere (snow, trails, roads, etc) and they'll stay together. I have used them each for 450-500 miles, which is when the bottom starts to wear out and they lose a little cushion.
On the negative side, they don't dry well with water so make sure you put newspaper/paper towels in them after rainy runs. Also, these shoes can feel a little flat at significantly faster paces, and they don't have the most cushion.
If you can find these for under 100 dollars, they are definitely worth a shot. I would not recommend paying full price for these with all the sales. I've really loved these shoes but after I found out I have footstrike hemolysis, I needed to switch to some more cushioned shoes so I am trying out the triumphs.
