The Guide

3/5

Overall

I wore the Guide a number of years ago and was disappointed with it, as its durability was weak. However, I heard the Guide was now being made better and the price was comparable. My first run in the Guide went well, but after that it started rubbing under my ankle and became painful to run in. I broke them in more and the pain went away, however, then my shins began aching. I had to stop running in them. I've never had this happen with any running shoe ever. I give it a 5 out of 10 because of this, however, I didn't rate it lower because I am not sure how this would affect other runners. I believe the rubbing on my ankles caused a change in my form that caused the shin pain.

Tongue rubs toes a bit, but I have had many pairs of Guide's and this is the first one to do so. Ordered a half size smaller than normal so I am guessing this is why. Otherwise, a great shoe so far (through ~200 miles)

overall, decent. when first breaking it in, my toes tend to get tingly, weird feeling in the toe box. Cloth on the heel wears out pretty rapidly (the inside upper part) from sliding your feet in and out, and after ~8-12 mos I was using the shoes as my "trash shoes" (shoes I could wear around generally or in muddy situations but that didn't have enough stability/support to run) and the heel was worn out to the point that I was getting blisters.

Really happy. The upper has some pressure points but can be ignored.
