If it is not broke, don't fix it.

Overall

I have been wearing Saucony Guides for many years and through many models. They have always been excellent in basically every regard. However, I began wearing the Guide 10 and they were markedly inferior to the earlier models. They were uncomfortable, blistered my ankles, constructed of cheaper materials, and didn't even look as good. I went and bought some older models and still use them. The Guide 8 and prior are great shoes. I never actually used a 9 so I can't say specifically but the 10 is worth just being tossed in the trash can.

I originally had this shoe selected for me at my local running store after the salesperson did an analysis of my running style. Since then I've bought duplicate versions on Amazon for cheaper, but same brand/style shoe. I used to always get shin splints and knee pain and with this shoe I have none of that. I also use custom orthotics due to flat feet, and those fit well into this shoe.

3 yrs. I wish they held up better. I notice performance decrease after 200 mi which is not great for a trainer but for cost reasons have to wear them a while longer creating some increases injury risk.

Overall

I have been wearing this shoe since the Guide 1's when I started running and despite suffering from several injuries the past 4 years I never switched shoes. After wearing these shoes for so long trying on a different brand feels awkward. I find the Saucony Guide shoes extremely comfortable which is also why I decided to stick with them. I live in the city so I mostly run on roads but hit the traisl whenever I can. I wear these shoes for everyday runs and wear Kinvaras when I hit the track for anything under 5:00 pace workouts. I have recently had several foot injuries recently and am considering a switch after almost 10 years of wearing the Saucony Guide.
