Overall

Great overall shoe. Wore Adidas DPR Boost prior and had a decent amount of knee pain. Tried the GTS 18 on and they had a great fit for me and the extra support felt very natural. Didn't have any more issues with interior knee pain. Already on my second pair of them. Cushioning is soft but not too soft, really a great all around shoe. Highly recommend if stability shoes have worked for you in the past. Also be careful with the high drop they have. Wasn't an issue for me but 12mm is a bit on the higher side.

very comfortable from the get-go and I did along run in htem on day-2 with no problems. this is the third iteration of this shoe I've worn (GTS 16, 17, and 18) and I'm very happy with them. I'm a fore-foot striker if that matters.

All Around Value in Stability Category

Overall

This was my first foray into a Brooks running shoe, even though I have been running for over 40 years. Have usually worn Nike, Adidas, Asics. Last regular shoe was the Adidas Supernova Sequence 9. Had a couple of pairs that I rotated. Love that shoe. Had the right amount of cushioning, responsiveness, and durability for me. Then Adidas decided to change it with the Supernova ST. A sad day and I now regret not buying ten more pair of the Sequence 9 when they were available, since both pair of my Sequence 9 had over 400 miles on them and it was time to put them in the painting/yardwork shoe bin. So, what to do now? I searched around for something similar to the Sequence 9 and looked at the new Skechers GOrun Forza 3, 361 Sensation 3, Asics GT-2000 6, and the Supernova ST among others. I did a few runs in each and none of them stood out for me in regard to the fit, cushioning, and stable ride that I had become accustomed to with the Sequence 9. A friend who wears the new Brooks Ravenna 9, suggested that I check those out, which I did. While I loved the fit, I felt I needed a bit more stability. That's what finally led me to try the Adrenaline GTS 18. The fit felt like someone from Brooks showed up at my house and measured my feet, and then went back and put together a pair for me. I had never had a brand new shoe fit so well right out of the box. With that great beginning, I was stoked for my first run in them. It did not disappoint. The shoe is lighter than my Sequence 9 and offered better responsiveness and with that I had a quicker turnover. Not quite as cushioned, but enough,. I am happy with the trade-off. I run on crushed limestone trails, asphalt paths, and grass trails. The shoe handles all of them equally as well, and I feel that I have a stable ride no matter the surface. I don't have enough time in the shoe to give an accurate assessment of the durability. Based on the materials in the outsole, I don't believe they will last quite as long as the Continental outsole that was on the Sequence 9, but not too many shoes do. They say that good things come to those who wait. 40+ years does seem like quite a long time, but hey Brooks, you finally won me over.

I've been a life-long ASICS wearer but every now and then I leave the reservation and try something new. One of the employees at my local running shop told me that the new GTS was the best fitting shoe he'd ever worn and urged me to give it a try. I've had several pairs of Brooks Cascadia trail shoes so it wasn't too far out of my comfort zone to consider the GTS. Holy cow was he right. This shoe has an outstanding ride and the upper is almost seamless so there's very little chance for blisters from seams. I'm a pretty heavy heal striker and the cushion has been excellent so far, although I am a little concerned about durability - I'm about 180 miles into the shoes and the midsole might be breaking down faster than I would like - or I might be hallucinating. Either one is a distinct possibility. One other thing of note is that the toe box is a bit narrow but hasn't rubbed me the wrong way yet. Overall, one of the best shoes I've worn in a long time. Would highly recommend.

Brooks Best Shoe Yet

Overall

The Brooks Adreniline GTS 18 is one of the best updates of all time. It takes the ample support and cushioning if models gone by and adds a new slick and comfortable upper. The shoe is lighter than years past and fits nice and snug without being overbearing. The GTS 18 changes enough to make the shoe lighter, flexible for fast and long training, without losing what previous models have added like the stellar support. I plan on buying another pair after my current pair hits 500 miles.
