Amazing cushioned trainer

5/5

Overall

I needed a cushioned trainer for raising mileage to 70-80 mpw, and because I was developing pain in my feet. I tried the Glycerin for the first time and haven't had to slow down. It's a great shoe for mileage, easy runs, and long runs.

Solid daily trainer

4/5

Overall

The Brooks Glycerin 15 is a very good all around shoe. It is not too heavy and is highly cushioned providing a smooth ride for miles. The Glycerin may seem a little clunky for some people, but I have no problem doing some uptempo runs in it due to its light weight, and the cushion keeps my legs feeling fresh. $150 is a somewhat high price point, but this is a case of getting what you pay for. The Glycerin vs. a shoe like the Pegasus shows a pretty big price difference, but the Glycerin has the extra cushion and comfort that can make the higher price worth it. The footbed has a bit of a curve to it, making for a very smooth transition from heel/midfoot to toe.

Brooks Glycerin 15 Review

4/5

Overall

This is a heavier shoe with solid cushioning and good flexibility. I was looking for something that comes in width and ended up with this shoe largely by default, based on the selection at the running shoe store. Since purchasing, I've upped my long runs from ~8 miles to ~13+ miles without any issues, and am largely happy with the shoe..

You Pay For the Quality

5/5

Overall

I've been running in the Glycerin for probably the past 8 years and I can't imagine moving to anything else. It's a heavier shoe, focused more on cushioning and support. This gives it a bulky look and a somewhat heavy feel, but the shoe itself holds up for a lot of miles. For someone with chronic shin problems, the shoe provides all the cushioning and support I'm looking for. I do tend to use additional arch supports, however I think for many runners, the Glycerin provides plenty of support by itself. The 15 model has improved in durability over the older models. The only major drawback is the $150 price tag. You definitely pay for the quality of the shoe, but it is worth it if you are able to afford it.

This shoe is very good for long runs. The shoe is well cushioned, but still provides a significant amount of energy return for a shoe in it's category. I have about 200 miles in my pair and they are still hanging in there, I think that I will be able to get around 450 miles in this shoe, which isn't bad because I am a heavier runner at 160lbs.
