Plush but bulky

Florian_Ire · Sep 28, 2025

4/5

Overall

Glycerin does what it says it does: providing comfort. It's super plush. But the shoe feels bulky as well and speeding up is cumbersome. For easy days it's fine, though for me, who is relatively small and light, I rather chose other easy day shoes that don't come with a premium price tag in the future, simply because the extensive cushioning isn't required. I think the Ghost is a cheaper alternative that gets the job done nearly as well and runs a bit faster - at least up to the 10 version.

Switched to Brooks Glycerin and LOVING it.

Overall

I decided to try out the Brooks Glycerin after I'd heard positive things about Brooks shoes in general. Prior to the switch I mostly wore Nike shoes alternating between the Pegasus and Vomero. The Vomero used to be my favorite running shoe for years but after multiple changes they just hadn't been working as well for me so I decided to try something new. Right out of the box the Glycerin didn't feel crazy soft or anything but after running in them once I knew they were a good shoe. I've been training for marathons and the Vomero just wasn't holding up as well on my long runs. The Glycerin have been great for shorter or longer training runs. My feet no longer hurt after or at the end of a long run (sometimes up to 20+ miles). I would highly recommend the Brooks Glycerin.

Pretty good.

Overall

Overall, it was pretty solid. Definitely more cushion than the Ghost (which I think is a better shoe overall) and running in this shoe definitely kept me feeling fresh and healthy. But, it also was relatively heavy, and it felt clunky whenever you tried to speed things up. Good for a long run and easy days, but not my first choice for anything faster.

Great cushion

Love the comfort of the shoe, great cushion! Shoe is a little on the heavy side, but I’d still take that over a lighter less comfortable shoe.

Plush, comfy, expensive

Overall

These shoes are great, as is the entire line, but they are expensive and durability needs work. I still believe it is worth the money.
