Works great

Been consistently running in different models of GT 2000 for years, mostly in the 60-80 mile per week range, and haven't had any problems with them.

GT 2000

Overall

If you are a slightly heavier runner ( over 75kg ) and you like a shoe that gives a bit of over pronation control, then don't hesitate to buy the asics GT 2000. They give a firm yet well cushioned feel not only under heel but also under the forefoot. These shoes are great all rounders; you can do anything in them from a time trial to an ultra. They also give reasonable durability. The upper will give out before you have any concerns about the sole having lost compression.

decent shoe despite changes

Still like these shoes, they just fit perfectly for my feet(or maybe my feet have been molded to fit the shoe....unsure). Material seems to be getting cheaper. The top cover seems to tear really easily on almost anything.

GT 2000...always a good ride

consistently good for avoiding injury

Overall

Previously I had a foot thing (dropped cuboid) so a podiatrist told me to switch to a more structured shoe with a strong medial post. I picked the GT-2000 and have been wearing it for most easy runs and long runs for the last 6 years. Sometimes I buy several if they are on sale for under $60. The last model (I think it was the v6) had really bad durability issues according to Amazon reviews where the top of the toe box area was ripping open very early. I skipped that version and am hoping that doesn't happen to my version 7 ones.
