Lifetime Mizuno Wave Inspire Runner

4/5

Overall

I've been running in the Mizuno Wave Inspire shoes for my entire running career. I think they did take a turn for the worse in some of the more recent models (hence why I'm not giving it the best scores), but I think this model version is getting back to a better shoe. They are cushioned and don't wear out too much on me. There is also enough space in the shoe for my bulky custom orthotics (I have incredibly high arches and underpronate). When I tried some different Nike shoe options, I did not feel like there was room in the shoe for my arch supports. One negative aspect of the shoes that I'm used to them at this point is that these shoes are pretty bulky. If you don't like your shoes weighing you down, I would steer clear of these. The newer models have tried to cut down on weight, but I think these are still some of the heavier shoes in the market. I did wear these when training for a marathon and did get injured, but I think that was user error and not a fault of the shoes. I tried jumping into too much mileage too quickly. Overall, I don't think these are the best running shoes out there performance wise (or the most beautiful for that matter). However I do think they have stayed fairly consistent and reliable. These are good shoes if you just need something to get you through the miles. Not too flashy, but not going to fail you either!

Mizuno Wave Inspire 13

5/5

Overall

Really comfortable. Waaaaaay better than the Inspire 12. Smooth ride. Kind of dorky looking. Bigger/heavier than previous Wave Inspires. Really good for long runs and steady state stuff, while a little too big for speed work. Also does well on trails. Overall a really solid, comfortable, cruiser type shoe.
