high mileage shoes

this is the only brand and model I trained with the highest mileage and with very few uncomfortable feeling at the end of its life around 1200miles accumulated. 90% on concrete pavement.

Solid shoe but nothing special

gome2100 · Sep 28, 2025

The 37s are very good training shoes that lasted a while. They seem to lack any sort of pop when it comes to speed, so I wouldn't recommend them for workouts or tempos.

Pretty reliable everyday trainer

Anonymous runner · Sep 28, 2025

5/5

Overall

The Nike Peg 37 has been a great everyday trainer that does not have to be flashy. Just a shoe that gets the job done, and does it well. I was not a fan of the later models that had more cushion in the heel. For me, it just didn't do it for me. The 37 is a really durable shoe that can handle many miles. Although it may not be the lightest daily trainer, it has been my go-to for the last few years.

Overall

I have been wearing the Nike Pegasus for over 30 years.  I love the cushioning and feel and always buy the older models at outlets for great prices.  I used to run 50-60 miles a week at 6:00-7:00 pace but now, at age 65+, jog a few miles each week.
