Overall

I like that I can feel the ground underneath, while it's still a responsive and cushioned shoe. More cushion than the first two models, without going overboard or giving it a bulky feel. Fits nice and snug, just enough space for foot swelling but not enough to make a foot swim in it. That being said, my foot is average, a much wider foot may not be so comfortable. The shallow toe box might scare away a few, but the upper is soft enough to not do any damage and can take a beating from tripping over roots, kicking rocks, etc. Easily a shoe that can be worn for long trail runs, backpacking, or around town if you're so inclined. The lugs aren't overly aggressive, so wearing them on pavement wouldn't be uncomfortable or cause traction problems. The colors available are pretty dope, ranging from very plain and dark grey to popped up teal and such. Easily can satisfy anyone with those options. Priced just about the same as most other trail shoes, and even road shoes.

Nike Terra Kiger 4

Overall

The Terra Kiger 4 is a fantastic trail shoe. It is relatively wide, stable, well-cushioned, and durable. After more than 250 racing and training miles, my shoes show very little wear even though 90% of miles has been on trails. Unlike other relatively low-profile trail shoes, it provides incredible underfoot protection, even without a rock plate. I have run distances up to 50 miles in this shoe with few problems aside from those you might expect when trotting along for eight hours without stopping. The only note of caution I would give is that this shoe is a bit firm and on very firm trails, it does not provide enough shock absorption. However, trails that are a mix of rock, unfrozen dirt, grass, etc. are perfect.
