Not too much

Love this shoe. It's perfect for road to trail, not too fluffy, not too stiff. Just right. Low drop.

Solid trail shoe for neutral runners

Overall

Pleasantly surprised by this iteration of the Terra Kiger. Nice wide toebox paired with a normal-width, comfortable and effective heel cup make for a great combo. Allows toe splay and provides some protection for kicking the occasional rock without feeling clunky, sloppy, or heavy. Fairly light for the trail shoe category with excellent traction in all conditions I've tried except mud (especially good for hardpack and rocky stuff). Would like to see the sole around the heels flare a bit less and an ounce or so lighter would be rad, but overall, I'm really happy with these.

Light but solid trail shoe

Overall

This is my third pair of Kigers, they just work great for trail running. Stable, decent tread, good protection from rocks. I feel much more confident on trails with these than with regular road shoes. I size up by half a size from my normal road shoes for the Kigers.

Best trainer ever?

Overall

I really didn't like the Kiger 4, but the Kiger 5 was a game changer for me. The upper was good, nothing special, but it didn't need to be anything special. The react midsole is magic. I have two pairs of Kiger 5's, each with about 300-450 miles on them, and neither pair has lost even a little bit of their bounce. React is incredibly durable and responsive, and I simply couldn't get enough of this shoe. Additionally, the outsole works very well on both trails and roads. I do find it to run a bit small. I normally wear an 11, but in the Kiger I wear an 11.5. The shoe probably runs about a quarter size small, so if you're on the larger side of your size, consider going up by a half size.

Better than Expected!

Overall

Wasn't sure what to expect with this shoe, as I hadn't run in any previous versions of the Terra Kiger. I was pleasantly surprised at the cushioning and comfort, given the stability and the stiffness needed for trail running. The pink and blue is polarizing, but I think bright colors look good once they get dirty. Sizing was the same as my Nike road shoes. Can't yet speak to durability. Good value if you wait for the inevitable discount and coupon codes...
