Pros

  • Reviewers use it for easy days, long runs, workouts and races alike.
  • A 45mm heel stack at 8.4 oz, light for the amount of cushioning.
  • Three reviewers report 400 miles or more with little wear, one of them past 600 km.

Cons

  • Value is its lowest-rated dimension at 4.2 out of 5, and reviewers who otherwise rate it highly repeatedly name the $200 price.
  • At 45mm the stack sits above the 40mm World Athletics limit, so it is not eligible for records in official road races.
  • One reviewer finds the midfoot slightly narrow with a tall toe box, and two find it runs about a half size large.

My current favorite

5/5

Overall

This is light weight, well cushioned with a fairly stiff sole. I like the stiffness as a flexible shoe always seems to end in foot injuries for me.

The shoe feels surprisingly fast and responsive although for my age 58, that isn’t the selling point.

I would buy it again.

Comfortable, lightweight all rounder

Overall

This is the perfect shoe for long runs, easy days and threshold.   I used to be a loyal Pegasus wearer for these sessions, but the Superblast is on a whole other level.

Expensive, but worth it. Perfect for long runs regardless of pace. Cushioned, responsive and supportive enough. Half size down recommended.
