Comfort For The Roads

Anonymous runner · Sep 28, 2025

5/5

Overall

I returned to running after 4 year lay off through health issues. Put on some extra poundage so looked around to see what would provide some cushioning. Prior to health issues ran in Nike Pegasus, however found the 1080's to be at least as good. Plus the added bonus that NB offer various width fittings (D, 2E & 4E). If you have wider feet this is a massive bonus. Fit is excellent, you are conscious of the cushioning without it feeling like running on marshmallows! Thus far only running about 10 miles a week (and slow) however had then over a month now with no issues and will be looking for another pair in the sales to rotate with.

Good for big-ish runners

Anonymous runner · Sep 28, 2025

4/5

Overall

I am 6'5 and 190lbs with 14 feet, I am big-ish but not hugely heavy. I need a shoe that has a wide enough toe box but not a super wide heel. This shoe has good cushion and comfort for longer runs if you are not looking for tons of speed but good long distance training. I am currently at about 250 miles and they are holding up pretty well. I would recommend for a distance trainer and for people who need more room in the toe box without getting a wide size.

Does a good job

Holds up even into the 600 mile range when I forget to replace shoes. Has a better heel than previous versions and feels lighter. One of the few shoes that are consistently available in 4E width as well which is a huge help

1080 falls a bit flat

Anonymous runner · Sep 28, 2025

4/5

Overall

The shoe is really cushioned, however I don’t feel like I’m getting enough response from it. Really naturally wide so show lost form after a while, however durability for midsole and outsole is good. Feel like heel slips with the mesh back.
