Nike Pegasus 34

Overall

After thoroughly enjoying the Pegasus 33s, I was excited to try out the 34s as they looked to be fundamentally the same shoe with a few minor, stylistic changes. The shoes are great for every day use and largely achieve their goal of being an everything shoe. They are neutral, with enough cushion for daily easy runs as well as long runs. They're also light enough to do uptempo work and I've personally used them for many speed workouts on the road, the track, and on grass. I have run 5K, 10K, and half marathon races in them and while I prefer lighter shoes for racing, the 34s were fine. My only real problem with the 34s is that the areas around the lace eyes were changed to include a thin plastic coating. I find that these can cause additional pressure on the top of my foot and have had to skip some eyes in order to find the right comfort. Overall, the 34s are still a solid shoe and probably a fairly safe purchase for the average runner.

My coach bought our team these shoes, and I was super excited to try them out, but that excitement turned to disappointment. The shoes had very little stability, and I felt awkward running in them. Within the next month I became injured. I do not necessarily want to blame the injury on the shoes, but I think it was a factor.
