Overall

A good strengthening shoe for lighter runners. The Pegasus 41 is a versatile shoe, suitable for slower paces and harder efforts. Its durability is better than some, but not anything spectacular, as the cushioning noticeably deteriorates as the miles rack up. This effect may also be more prominent for heavier runners. If the shoe were to be compared to a food, it would be a plain graham cracker. It's nothing special, and it gets the job done. A comparatively low height stack when compared with today's market, and just the right amount of cushioning to keep your feet strong. While it may not be a shoe to go look for a PR in, or to feel like you're a feather (quite a heavy shoe in comparison with other shoes, for example the Adidas Evo SL), it's a trusted and tested shoe by thousands.

I love the Nike Pegasus line. That’s basically all I’ve worn since I started running. They fit my narrow feet perfectly and felt fine for any and all running I did.

I haven't run in that many versions of the Pegasus so I can't really compare to previous versions, but this is a solid neutral trainer and can usually be found relatively affordably somewhere on the internet.
