Best shoes I have ever run in

5/5

Overall

I absolutely love these shoes. I dont know what I am going to do when I cant find them anymore. The cushioning is superb. Putting them on for the first time I said wow! The Endorphin Speed 3 has the carbon fiber plate and I dont like those at all. They are light and I get approximately 500 miles in them before I need to change. There are quite a few colors to choose from. The black is readily availale on eBay but I would always choose another color if I can.

Great everyday shoe as long as you are exclusively on roads

5/5

Overall

love the 10mm drop but they are very high up and the couple of trail runs i've done in them have been terrifying; no stability whatsoever and concerns about my delicate beautiful ankles. they tend to keep their bounce for about 400 miles for me and remain servicable for another 80-100 after that

Crazy value

5/5

Overall

Bought this shoe because it looked cool and it was only like $80 on runners warehouse. This was right before the 3 came out, so they must have been trying to get rid of the older model. I had never ran in any sort of a plated shoe before, only trainers, so this was a pretty cool first plated shoe for me, even though it was merely just a plastic plate. The ride you get from this shoe is incredible. You can feel the difference between this and a normal daily trainer. I used this shoe for fast long runs, workouts, and races. It performed well in all. It looks amazing and you can't beat the value. The only issue I had with the shoe was that it lacked stability. I'm not sure if it was due to the geometry of the plate or the sole, but I found that I would pronate like crazy when first wearing the shoe after an extended period of time after going without wearing it. As someone who has dealt with posterior tibial tendonitis in the past, this was concerning. I never got injured as a result of the shoe, but I did frequently wake up the next day with a very sore arch/post tib after running in this shoe. Just something to be mindful of! I would 100% buy this shoe again due to both the low price and outstanding performance.

Not quite as fast as version 1

4/5

Overall

The original Saucony Endorphin Speeds were my favorite running sneakers ever. Tempo runs at speeds that I found challenging in my previous pair of sneakers would feel almost effortless in the Endorphin Speeds. I bought a pair of Endorphin Speed 2's, expecting them to feel very similar to the original version, but to my surprise I felt much less energetic on training runs with the Speed 2's. I'm a heel striker, and in the Speed 1's (uniquely, among shoes I've tried) it feels almost effortless to roll from heel to toe for the start of the next stride. In the Speed 2's, rolling from heel to toe feels similar to other neutral trainers I've worn (like Brooks Ghost 12). Also to my surprise, within a month of starting to use the Speed 2's, I occasionally felt mild knee soreness at the end of training runs, which had not happened in my previous Endorphin Speeds. In my third month of running in the Speed 2's, I'm no longer feeling the soreness in my knees; perhaps I needed some time to break them in.
