Pros

  • Reviewers run tempo, intervals and long runs in it alike.
  • Light at 8.3 oz on a 38mm heel stack.
  • Reviewers say the nylon plate gives a cushioned, propulsive ride without a super shoe's stiffness.

Cons

  • One reviewer finds it less springy and less cushioned than a super shoe.
  • Three reviewers call the $170 price high.

Endorphin Speed 4 a great versatile speed work shoe for longer runs.

4/5

Overall

This was a nice agresive nylon plated shoe. I used this for running a marathon. Even after 400+ miles this still feels like it has some more miles to go. I got this shoe on sale and wish I had bought more than one.

I love this shoe, but could be more durable.

I love these shoes, they feel fast and quick. I’ve ran multiple workouts and these shoes really shine between 1500-2 miles. Would highly recommend

Great training - has keep me healthy

4/5

Overall

Become addicted to the endorphin line (how ironic), nice roll to the shoe, good cushioning. As an older runner (~60) more interested in staying healthy than running fast this shoe seems to help both. Just wish I could find the older versions to save money.

My go-to everyday training shoe, at a price

5/5

Overall

I've been running in Endorphin Speeds since the second generation, had a couple of pairs of 3rd gen, and now onto my second pair of 4th gen. There have been some changes between generations but consistently they provide a more cushioned ride than traditional shoes without feeling like a super-shoe or race-day shoe. The use of a plastic plate rather than a carbon plate seems to work well in turning them from a racing shoe to an everyday trainer, and when I go back to an older shoe such as the Saucony Ride, I notice the reduction in cushioning. Durability is good - I replace them at around 650km but they don't actually seem very worn at that point.
