Versatile trainer

5/5

Overall

The Kinvaras are light enough for workouts and cushioned enough for recovery runs and long runs. I use them for pretty much everything. The only drawback with the Kinvara 13 for me is that I need to tie them a little bit loosely or they dig into the top of my foot a bit. As long as I don't tie them too tight they're very comfortable.

Great all-around road shoe

5/5

Overall

I initially bought kinvaras because they were on sale and were a cheap shoe to try, but they quickly became my favorite shoe. They are not very cushioned, but they seem to be kinder on my body than more built-up shoes I’ve run in. The only injury problems I’ve had with these shoes have been ankle tendonitis after about 400 miles in long runs. I keep running using them for easy runs until ~550 miles, but use other shoes for long runs and workouts after 400.

Lightweight trainer that i've used for tempo runs or easy runs with strides, holds up fine for track workouts also. Also comfortable enough to use on long runs with some tempo portions.
