Overall

The Kinvara has been my go-to shoes since it's inception almost 9 years ago. It's versatility to handle the long run and be light enough for speed work makes it the perfect combination for me. Whether you're training in your neighborhood or traveling and can't take more than one pair of shoes, the Kinvara meets every need. I've run thousands of miles in the Kinvara series and the Kinvara 8 is certainly one of the best overall iterations with a great fit and the addition of EVERUN.

Overall

Pick up a pair of Kinvara 8 for tempo run and track workout. The shoes felt fast and light but the cushioning was a little soft for my taste. I like the sole to be a little firmer to provide a more responsive ride and the heel to be slimmer to reduce some weight. Overall the shoes is excellent for tempo run, and I would recommend this shoes if you need soft and cushion ride for a long tempo run.

Sized 1/2 size smaller than foot size. Good cushioning. Light. Wears out somewhat faster than others. Can't have everything. Bought four pairs in 9 months.

Fast Shoe

I use the kinvara mostly for workouts and trail races that aren't too rocky. They are super light and fit like a glove the first time you put them on. I absolutely love these shoes. I have worn them for about 150 miles at this point and they are starting to show some signs of wear, but again that is because I usually wear them during trail races and they can get pretty beat up on the downhill. Definitely the most comfortable light-weight shoe I have ever worn.

Best Kinvara in awhile

Overall

The Kinvara 8 was the best update since the 3 or 4. I have been tracking down old K3s for a few years now due to the disappointing shifts in the K5-K7. This update moved back towards the no frills, versatility that make the Kinvaras famous in the first place. Still needs improvements to fully escape the gimmicky, over doing of extra features that attract unaware buyers, but still a wearable, enjoyable trainer.
