Overall

This shoe runs like a trainer in terms of having plenty of cushion for a long run, but it's a firm cushion, so you can run quickly in them across any surface. The lighter weight of the shoe helps with this, as does the 10mm offset. It's basically the adidas adios, but with slightly more cushion for everyday use. An added thing I love about the shoe is that the heel cup doesn't really wrap the foot, so even with the 10mm offset it's still somewhat kind to my achilles. Runners sometimes joke about which shoe you'd pick if you could only run in one shoe the rest of your life, well, this is clearly it. This is the only shoe I can be happy to run in on literally any surface any day at any pace. Thankfully I'm not poor, so I don't have to do that. This is the kind of trainer I'd recommend to a high school kid who planned to wear just one pair of shoes other than his spikes all season.

Overall

The Boston series has been my go to running shoe since I started getting back into it two years ago. The Boston 4 improved upon the Boston 3 in fit, but seems to be slightly less durable. It could also be psychological, but the 4 seems to feel like it loses its cushion soon after 300 miles, where the previous version would make it to 400 miles for me. Otherwise I like the firm feel on the pavement and I am hoping the new boost version does not sacrifice this with the new TPU cushioning.
