Boston 11 Improved my PB's in a Marathon and Ultra

Anonymous runner · Sep 28, 2025

5/5

Overall

In 2023 I ran my first Comrades Ultra Marathon in an ASICS GlideRide 2, My marathon PB was 04:10:36, which I used for as my Comrades qualifying time. I then finished the race on 10:58:37. In September 2023, after retiring the shoe, I started using the Boston 11. After training in January 2024, I ran a qualifier in a PB best of 03:52:57. When I ran the 2024 race, I finished it in a time of 09:59:48. Best decision I made. Now looking to upgrade two a Boston 12.

Worst shoe I ever had

Anonymous runner · Sep 28, 2025

Overall

Heavy and very stiff. I dont understand the concept of adding the carbon rods to this trainer who is very heavy and already very stiff. The whole shoe construction is bad and it already ruined 2 of my running socks by the heal

Hard to put on and kinda clunky...

Coach Jeff ROC · Sep 28, 2025

...but maybe that's because I ran in a different shoe for so long. These feel really stiff to me, but either I'm breaking them in or I'm getting used to them. I sound negative, but that might not be fair. I tried on the Boston 12s and then bought the 11s online and they just feel very different. They seem like a solid trainer so far.

Long break in period but good for short runs

Andreas · Sep 28, 2025

Overall

I have run 10 runs in them and they are still not broken in, I tried running a 20km long run and my feet felt dead after. They are good for short runs under 5km at a slow pace

Boston 11, great shoe, but break in period longer than other shoes.

Bob · Sep 28, 2025

Overall

Boston 11's great shoe, but be patient, it takes a good 5-7 runs, before they get broke in.
