Pros

  • Reviewers commonly report 400 to 600 miles before the cushioning fades.
  • Cushioned enough for long runs, and reviewers use it for tempos too.

Cons

  • Two reviewers say the sizing changed from the Ghost 10, one sizing up half a size.
  • Two reviewers find it too heavy for racing.
  • One reviewer finds the sole slick on wet sidewalks, and another gets only 300 to 350 miles from a pair.

Brooks Ghost 11: a review from a college XC runner

4/5

Overall

Overall I have been very impressed with the Ghost 11s! The fit is way better than the Ghost 10s, I have a narrow foot and the toe box on the 11s is more narrow than the 10s so the fit is much better. The midsole cushioning is good, I run 80-90 miles a week and do 16-18 mile long runs and I have no issues with the comfort of the shoe. The outsole has good durability, there is a lot of rubber and it holds up. I can put about 500-600 miles on a pair before they start to lose comfort and durability. The Brooks Ghost 11 is a good shoe for daily mileage, there isn't anything special about it, it is just a good shoe.

Ghost 11 - A great training shoe

5/5

Overall

This is my go to trainer as of late. The only downside is I feel as though it's a bit heavy. However, weirdly, I like it being a bit heavy because when I race, it feels like I have feathers on my feet when I put my flats on. Great cushioning and easy to wear on a long easy Sunday run. having put over 500 miles in my pair, the wear is minimal and durability is not an issue. Like most shoes, I feel they are a bit expensive at $120. but I would buy them again in an instant!

Brooks Ghost 10

5/5

Overall

Been wearing Ghosts for at least 5 versions now and this is probably the best. A little wider than the 10 was for me and although the specs don't indicate it, the heel drop feels more relaxed than that of the 10. As with all Ghosts I've had, there is a good balance between cushioning and road feel.

Soft and cushiony. Could use a little more cushion between my feet and the road sometimes.

Comfortable with Just Enough Cushioning and Comfort

5/5

Overall

I have recently switched into this shoe and love it. The first time I ran in the shoe, I was focusing on it trying to find little issues. Now that I have more miles, the best way for me to describe my liking of the shoe is I stopped feeling it was there after that first day. The Brooks Ghost is comfortable and lightweight with enough cushioning for comfort. I hate spending upwards of 120 dollars on running shoes, and this shoe is priced just at that. I feel like since all shoes deteriorate eventually, you should try to find a little more bang for the buck. The Brooks strikes a great line between price and high quality.
