Uptempo trainer

4/5

Overall

The Nike Pegasus 34 is an excellent shoe for daily training mainly for its quick and poppy ride that the zoom cushioning provides. The shoe is quite versatile not feeling particularly out of place during tempo runs and intervals. The support of the shoe was slightly sub par compared to a an Asics or New Balance being more supportive (the 35's support is excellent). Fantastic update to a storied line

With Peg 34, you get what you pay for.

4/5

Overall

I got a good 350 miles out of these shoes before they went flat. They were a very reliable trainer and had enough cushion for my longer runs of 15 or so miles, as well as enough pop for 3-4 mile uptempo efforts. They even handled some interval work pretty adequately. In an age where shoes are increasingly specialized for cushioned long runs or responsiveness for race pace efforts, you cannot beat something that is so solid all around at the $110 price tag.

Solid all-purpose shoe

4/5

Overall

It's an effective workhorse as a daily neutral trainer. Only knock is it's a bit snug in the forefoot. Otherwise, no major negatives.
