Pros

  • Reviewers use them for easy miles, long runs and tempo work.
  • Many reviewers call it smoother and more responsive than the Pegasus 34.
  • Several runners get 400 to 600 miles before retiring a pair.

Cons

  • Runners with wide feet often find the toe box tight.
  • Some report the cushioning flattening or the outsole wearing around 300 miles.
  • The reshaped heel counter divides reviewers, and one finds it abrasive enough to rule the shoe out.

The Pegs are Great!

4/5

Overall

I have run 70-80 mile weeks in the Pegasus for 7 years now and am very pleased with this latest addition of a lightweight responsive trainer.

Finally, a durable shoe that feels good

4/5

Overall

After running in the kinvara for 1500 miles over 4 pairs, I needed a shoe that would 1. Be affordable (as close to $100 as possible) 2. Be durable (as a highschooler who buys his own shoes, I can't afford new shoes every 2 months) 3. Be lightweight/responsive enough to do workouts in Very, very durable. I've worn it may, june, and now half of july and the cushion feels great, like new. Wish it was cheaper, but I got it for $110, so it's affordable-ish(running shoes in general are too expensive) I do wish it was a little lighter, Not as fun to do workouts in as a fresh pair of Kinvaras. In addition the drop is a little high for me, I went from barely not heelstriking to heelstriking on my left foot (mostly towards the ends of runs). The cushion is so good though, I didn't notice it until I looked at the wear patterns.

I enjoy this shoe

4/5

Overall

Fits my narrow foot well, cushioned enough to feel comfortable on the roads but not too heavy which is important to me. Feels like a pretty "fast" daily trainer.

Old Reliable

4/5

Overall

I started wearing the Pegasus at 31, and it was love at first site. I originally made the switch when NOP offered the 31s for $68 and though I would give it a try. The cushion makes for a very comfortable run and hasn’t changed over the years. It is a very affordable shoe that is light enough for a marathon. It doesn’t have much arch support, and wears down pretty quick. Overall it’s a great shoe for logging a lot of miles.
