Pros

  • Reviewers use them for easy miles, long runs and tempo work.
  • Many reviewers call it smoother and more responsive than the Pegasus 34.
  • Several runners get 400 to 600 miles before retiring a pair.

Cons

  • Runners with wide feet often find the toe box tight.
  • Some report the cushioning flattening or the outsole wearing around 300 miles.
  • The reshaped heel counter divides reviewers, and one finds it abrasive enough to rule the shoe out.

One shoe for everything

5/5

Overall

I own two pairs, one with almost 800k, and I have run 10k, halfs and a marathon on them. I think they have the just amount of cushoning in order to make them a good training and racing shoe. Moreover the price/quality is amazing. Just one downside. If you have a wide foot, you may suffer a little bit in the beggining

Relied on these for years

Pegasus general is my go-to shoe. I've been using them on and off since I can remember even though I like to try other brands. There's not anything specific that really stands out to me, its more the package deal -- they just work really well for me. Its also nice that they are pretty stylish too (they've gotten better over the years), so when I retire them I can wear them out and not feel like I'm wearing "mom" shoes.

Favourite Pair of Shoes

4/5

Overall

Have been using pegasus' since version 30. This is by far my favourite shoe that I have had the pleasure of running in. They are light and fairly responsive for a training shoe. I really enjoy the upper which feels like it holds my foot in a solid and secure position. The upper does start to fall apart after around 400-500km which is why I only ranked the durability at a 6/10.

Best shoe run in to date

4/5

Overall

This shoe is perfect for me as a am a young middle distance runner who trains 4-5 times a week with my longest runs being around 10k and a range of training sessions including fartlek's the shoe holds up on every occasion (even recovery runs). The midsole is perfect for me as it allows me to land in my midfoot with comfort and provides enough cushioning and plenty of responsiveness. The shoe has shown signs of wear but the performance of the shoe has not decreased and I have clocked in 100+ miles in the shoe. Overall this shoe is very reliable and proves to be a better option for me over the zoom fly as the stake Hight is too great and I dislike the carbon sole as the combined effect was poor form discomfort and heel striking.
