No-Frills Everyday Trainer - That's not a bad thing.

Overall

The overall experience in this shoe is very similar to the 35. They have the exact same ride, probably because they share the exact same midsole setup. They have a very smooth ride on long runs while still having a firm pop for speed sessions. The advertised change in this iteration was a more breathable upper. While I didn't notice much improvement in that area (it can still get stuffy on very hot days), it did cut a chunk out of the weight, which was nice. As for durability, I have put over 150 miles in this pair and have not noticed any difference in ride quality, though it does have unsightly creases in the midsole. The design of this shoe feature's Nike cut off swoosh appearing on all their new shoes, which I'm personally not a fan of, but that's just a triviality. All in all, Nike has created a reasonably priced, workhorse running shoe - what else can you ask for? Note: This shoe has quite an aggressive arch, which can be annoying for those with flatter feet.

Nike Pegasus 36 4E: Great to Run In, Only One Flaw

Overall

The Peg 36 is another great shoe! I've been wearing some version of the Pegasus since I started running and have bought multiples of some models, having run in at least one pair of each version since the 32's. I have tried other shoes with X-Wide options from other brands but have struggled to find a shoe that fit as well or felt as comfortable as the Pegs. I honestly believe they have improved each year and this is no exception . These shoes are perfectly intermediate; there's enough cushion to put in the mileage without excess weight, making these great for speed work and even racing for all but the most competitive runners. Long runs and track intervals feel great in these shoes. Overall, runners who are familiar with the Pegs should know about what to expect, and newcomers are in for a welcome surprise in a shoe that you simply can't go wrong with. My one complaint about this shoe is the limited colorways for non-standard widths. This year the narrow- and wide-footed among us have been blessed with a single black and white option. As someone with X-Wide (4E) feet, I cannot even give Nike extra money to build my own design with their Nike ID program, which is particularly frustrating as someone who loves to wear a bit of color. This feeling is more powerful than ever this year with multiple beautiful colorways on the standard width shoes, perhaps more than ever. I recommend this shoe to anyone and everyone who does well with a neutral shoe. I have never had a pair of any shoe of any type that is more reliable and effective for their purpose than Nike Pegs, and 2019's model continues that legacy. DISCLAIMER: I have not yet retired these shoes, but so far they feel durable and I expect at least 400 miles out of these at the end of their rotation.

Moved on from the 35s which were great, 36s seem very similar. Tongue is different but I don't feel anything different. They feel more cushioned but possibly just because they are newer.
