Versatile Vomero’s

Overall

Ran in speed workouts, road races, and long runs. All weathers from spring to winter. Ankle cushioning was great personally. Bought another pair after my first pair. No problems with any part of the shoe whatsoever.

Tongue...

Overall

Before purchasing this shoe, most of the reviews were positive with the exception of one common complaint, the tongue length. To be honest, the tongue was never an issue on my runs with the shoe as I never noticed or had to give it any thought. The only time it was an inconvenience was when putting the shoe on and tying the laces. Overall the ride of the shoe was great although I've always thought that $140 for this model was a little too steep.

With Nike's Money, They Can't Find Higher Quality Material

To start off I love this shoe because of the responsiveness for being such a bulky shoe, but I've gone through 4 pairs now and after about 300 miles on each shoe the sides burst out on me. I have had this problem with Hokas before but never Nike, the Vomero 13s lasted me about 600 miles or so but the 14s just seem to fail on me every time once i start to feel them break in.

Comfy & light, but needs more cushioning

Overall

I’ve run in about 10 pairs of the Nike Pegasus and 4 pairs of the Brooks Ghost. I finally tried on the Nike Zoom Vomero 13 which was perfect- lightweight like the Pegasus and with plenty of cushioning like the Ghost. I loved it! Unfortunately, the Vomero 14 was not what I needed. It was lighter and thinner and I felt that they did not give me the support I need, especially running on mostly asphalt. The Vomero is typically fairly expensive, so in order for me to pay $140+, I will need more cushioning so that I can get my money’s worth!

Beef'd up pegs

Overall

Used to run in the pegs until the 36's dropped, switched to the vomero's. First 100 miles or so you can feel the pod in the front of the shoe which can feel awkward at the start of runs and walking, however I never had any problems stemming from it/ never felt it later into runs. Shoe tends to feel a little awkward when the pace becomes faster. Given that I live in LA and the trails are littered with spikey debris from trees I found that the more durable sole offered protection from the puncture of the air unit (which happened many times with my pegs). They are a little expensive, and I would say that they are great if you're someone looking for a neutral shoe to take on long/ easy runs, although I've never had any problems with tempos.
