Pros

  • The Continental rubber outsole holds up well past 500 miles for many.
  • Runners use it for tempos, track sessions and marathons alike.
  • Light at 8.8 oz with a snappy, responsive Boost ride.

Cons

  • Several reviewers find it lean on cushioning, and pick softer shoes for recovery days.
  • Three reviewers find the forefoot narrow, and one advises going half a size up.
  • One reviewer says it soaks up water like a sponge, and another finds the outsole less grippy on ice and wet.

One of my favorite shoes for long runs

4/5

Overall

I didn't like these shoes initially, because it took a few runs for me to learn how to tie them correctly so as to avoid blisters. After a few runs, particularly on long runs over 1.5-2 hours, I noticed that my feet felt better in these than my favorite Saucony Kinvara 8s or 9s I used to swear by. The Boston felt firmer and less cushioned initially, but actually ended up supporting my feet much better in the long run. They also have great energy return and feel snappy over the course of a long run.

Snap City

4/5

Overall

I like snappy shoes quite a bit, and when I first tried on the Boston's I knew I found my next pair of running shoes. They're ultra fast and return a huge amount of energy back into your stride as hardly any is lost in the compression of the minimal foam. It's definitely a bit tougher on the legs, but is fantastic for anything where you hope to go fast whether it's a speed workout on the track or a quick long run.

Great shoe

5/5

Overall

Love this shoe - as a heavy supinator tread wear is an issue for me. These shoes use a Continental rubber compound that is extremely durable and has held up so far. In addition, this is a wonderful shoe for up-tempo and track work.
