Pros

  • The Continental rubber outsole holds up well past 500 miles for many.
  • Runners use it for tempos, track sessions and marathons alike.
  • Light at 8.8 oz with a snappy, responsive Boost ride.

Cons

  • Several reviewers find it lean on cushioning, and pick softer shoes for recovery days.
  • Three reviewers find the forefoot narrow, and one advises going half a size up.
  • One reviewer says it soaks up water like a sponge, and another finds the outsole less grippy on ice and wet.

Boston Boost, jack of some trades and masters some too

4/5

Overall

Surprisingly versatile shoe if you're in decent shape. I only run 2-3 times a week now but when I do, I typically like to run fast. Totally capable for a track workout, tempo run and a longer run too. Admittedly I'm pretty light and a bit more experienced, so it may not be enough shoe for some others looking to do the same. Updated upper is really comfortable generally and I find myself generally happy to put these shoes on and run. Maybe I wouldn't feel that way if I was running most days a week in them, but I really feel that all of the runs I do in them are great. Not overly aggressive shape or offset, so you don't really have to run any faster than you want.

Great, versatile shoe

5/5

Overall

I have done everything from track workouts to long runs in these shoes. They grip the road well and enough cushion without being overly heavy. I primarily use them for tempos and workouts though and do recoveries in something with a bit more padding.

Perfect for Long Workouts

5/5

Overall

Boston Boost is snappy shoe perfect for long tempos, long interval sessions, and hard long runs especially on the road with enough cushion to train in every day if you really needed to. Boost and tire rubber means you’ll be able to wear it for months, especially if you don’t wear it every day. Looks sharp too. If the adios isn’t enough cushion for you this will be great.

Great All Around Shoe

5/5

Overall

Switched from Zoom Fly's to Boston Boosts after Achilles injuries in the Nikes and have never gone back! These shoes are great for mileage, faster runs and even track workouts. I've never been injured in them and I've recommended them to multiple friends who have all given me positive feedback. They may feel a bit under cushioned for an everyday shoe, but the boost material is durable (I changed them after 600km but they still had some life in them) and provides good energy return. I find that my running form is better in these shoes compared to a more cushioned shoe like the ZF's or a traditional NB model. I would definitely recommend these if you are only buying one shoe.
