Pros

  • The Continental rubber outsole holds up well past 500 miles for many.
  • Runners use it for tempos, track sessions and marathons alike.
  • Light at 8.8 oz with a snappy, responsive Boost ride.

Cons

  • Several reviewers find it lean on cushioning, and pick softer shoes for recovery days.
  • Three reviewers find the forefoot narrow, and one advises going half a size up.
  • One reviewer says it soaks up water like a sponge, and another finds the outsole less grippy on ice and wet.

Classic Trainer - Great Bounce

4/5

Overall

Adidas Boston 7 is my first pair of Adidas, after 7 years of running I finally gave Adidas a try. I've been turned away by the weight of the shoes - Boston 7 comes in a 8.6 oz. for my men's size 9. However, after running in them for about 100 miles, I can say the Boost foam does a great of providing some "rebound" that makes the extra weight go away. On Easy and medium length days, I find I keep grabbing the Boston's over other pairs of shoes I have in the line up. They're very comfortable, done well, and hold up. I see very little wear at all so far. These shoes are not a marathon race shoe (even though that's how Adidas advertises them), but they are a great long distance trainer that works well for shorter runs as well.

Shoe has exceeded my expectations

5/5

Overall

I have been on the hunt for an Adidas shoe that I really love, and the Boston is it. I feel like it is light enough for tempos and longer intervals, but leaves my feet still feeling good after long runs.

Good all around shoe for the rotation

4/5

Overall

As the everyday mileage shoe in a rotation it's perfect - works when the pace gets pushed, but equally effective for a long and slow slog.

Reliable shoe

5/5

Overall

Lightweight trainer that's durable. It's not the most comfortable shoe I've ever run in. The Kinvaras are, for example, a better feel. But these were reliable shoes. I bought three pairs. I suffered one injury, but I blame the overboard winter treadmill running when the roads were iced.
